This retail store was designed for a local South African brand called,
PALM THE BRAND. It is an online store that caters for young women and adults, and primarily sells swimwear and summer apparel. The inspiration for the design of the store was mainly driven by the way the brand is presented on social media platforms such as instagram and facebook
The store features natural wooden flooring and palm trees wall prints to give it that “beachy” feeling. The ceiling, features a curve like structures to represent “waves”, this structure is also the primary light source for the store as it is self illuminating. Being that the brand is more sophisticated and not kitschy, the choice of materials and features within the store adopt a modern contemporary design style .

Stay-tion Hotel
The hotel is designed to be accessible and friendly to people in wheelchairs. Inspired by the train station itself, as well as the well known luxury train, The Blue Train, the hotel features 20 rooms, of which all are en-suite, a reception, luggage storage room and a restaurant. All rooms are featured on the ground floor and feature bunk beds in all rooms to mimic sleeping that found on a train, this also allows the beds to be user friendly to those in wheelchairs.
The inspiration for the hotel, is inspired by THREE PRINCIPLES of design, that are also THREE ELEMENTS, important to someone in a wheelchair, namely, SPACE, SHAPE, TEXTURE.
