This retail store was designed for a local South African brand called,
PALM THE BRAND. It is an online store that caters for young women and adults, and primarily sells swimwear and summer apparel. The inspiration for the design of the store was mainly driven by the way the brand is presented on social media platforms such as instagram and facebook
The store features natural wooden flooring and palm trees wall prints to give it that “beachy” feeling. The ceiling, features a curve like structures to represent “waves”, this structure is also the primary light source for the store as it is self illuminating. Being that the brand is more sophisticated and not kitschy, the choice of materials and features within the store adopt a modern contemporary design style .

ABOUT:
Inspired by the art of origami , this multi-functional space within the public gardens of Cape Town is designed to be user friendly and visually blend it with its surroundings.
This is achieved through folding tables and chairs concealed with the ground and folding walls and ceilings that are all movable by hand.
